Pangi & Spiti Valley Motorcycle Tour!

Is this India's toughest, most dangerous road? Regardless, ride what some call the Death Road
and you will be committing to one of the most exhilarating rides you will ever experience. Imagine telling your friends you have ridden one of the toughest, most exhilarating, rides in the Himalayas and lived to ride another day. Peering over the precipice of a road, staring into the valley floor thousands of feet below. The road, virtually carved into the rockface of a sheer cliff wall. It seems like you are defying the laws of gravity.

‘Death Road'... Yeah Nah! We prefer to call it the Cliffhanger. While the narrow road is
‘edge-of-your-seat riding' and snakes over 200 kilometers around the edge of a steep-walled gorge, and much of it hacked out of a stone cliff face, it is not as hazardous for experienced riders as you might think, although It certainly isn't for the faint-hearted. While the Cliffhanger offers no signs, no railings, no warnings, and no relief, our experienced guides and team will lead you through with the safety of the group in mind.

The Cliffhanger climbs to over 2500 meters, or 8000 feet in Killar. A sheer drop on one side could plunge a rider 2000 feet down into the mighty Chenab River should they make even the smallest of errors. So, just keep your cool, watch for falling rocks, oncoming buses and trucks, minor landslides, and everything will be alright. No worries!

Due to the difficulties and risks involved, this is one of the roads less traveled in the Himalayas. Here, it is the ride and not simply the destination that really stands out.
The Cliffhanger tests the mettle of both the rider and the bike. However, you may be distracted, or even swept away by the sheer beauty of the valley below and the scenery surrounding you, so hold onto your handlebars.

The Cliffhanger, taxing in effort and mesmerizing in beauty. Like a carnival ride with just the right amount of thrill but not so much that you want to stop the ride. The Cliffhanger will leave you wanting to do it all over again.

Because we can confidently state that no riders have been lost on tour with us, there is no better way to experience the Himalayas than with Roaming Horizons. You will be accompanied by an Australian tour manager or host on every ride. On all routes, we have a mechanic on hand, and also a medical expert on remote tours.

“Adventure awaits at every turn. This is more than just a road—it’s the ultimate test for every adventure rider.”

Key Features of the Cliffhanger - Pangi and Spiti Moto Expedition*
